I’m feeling acquisitive. Dammit, Sam, you should NOT have gotten me hooked on eBay!
My birthstone is topaz. I’ve NEVER liked it. Come on, it’s ORANGE! I do not like any shade of orange, period. No, it isn’t gold—it’s orange. (And if I want to wear a gold stone, I wear amber, which is magnificent.) No, smoky topaz isn’t better—that’s brown (blah). Blue topaz (which I think must be synthetic, as I’d never heard of it ’til after CZs came onto the market) is a wimpy blue.
But THIS is a pretty topaz. This I’d wear:

The purple stones are tanzanite, which is what I had put in my high school class ring.
