Good People

I don’t remem­ber why this came to mind today, but it did.

Back in ear­ly 2002, star­rchilde and rasilio were deal­ing with hav­ing just moved to a new place, not hav­ing sta­ble employ­ment, a sur­prise preg­nan­cy, etc. They weren’t hav­ing an easy time of any­thing, to say the least.

Oth­er friends of ours who had been chron­i­cal­ly un or under-employed had a child, and they were hav­ing a very hard time putting gro­ceries on the table. 

Star­rchilde and Rasilio showed up with sev­er­al bags of gro­ceries, clothes, and dia­pers for our oth­er friends. I’m not entire­ly sure star­rchilde had even met these peo­ple before!

They are damned fine peo­ple, and I’m proud to know them.
