And Now in Oregon!

A friend in Portland just informed me that she was at the Multnomah County courthouse (or wherever it is that issues marriage licenses there) today. She was told that tomorrow they will begin issuing marriage licenses for gays and lesbians. The Oregon civil code stipulates that marriage is legal for “males at or over the age of 17, and females at or over the age of 17.” It doesn’t stipulate that marriage must be between a male and a female. So there ya go.
