Tuesday Miscellany

Due to the nasty weather, we rescheduled some of today’s planned driving for tomorrow. We were able to bring home Katie’s friend C, though!

This morning, shadowkatt saw the pediatric rheumatologist who diagnosed her with fibromyalgia in 2000. The good news: she no longer fits the diagnostic criteria for FMS. The bad news: she still hurts, there’s just no particular explanation as to why. Gah!

So he put her on Celebrex and Flexeril and took her off the Naproxen her pediatrician had prescribed. He suggested that she work on strengthening her muscles as much as possible and increase her activity levels. We’re going to check on the closest YMCA’s Pilates class schedules to add to dance and martial arts. She may have an opportunity to work with horses at least once a week, too, but that’s still up in the air a bit.

We went by the mall before coming home to try to get a particular sort of adapter at Radio Shack. The girls had to visit Hot Topic, of course. Katie found The Perfect Boots for about $200 less than the last “perfect boots” she identified, so that was worth a trip to the mall (her current boots, which she prefers to all other footwear, are getting tight).

sambear convinced me to stop and look at walking sticks at a store that had a display of them. Some were nice, but I’m still hesitant. Maybe I’ll try one. I’m not sure yet.

I was very impressed with the good-smelling herbal heating neck wraps at one of the kiosks. I didn’t really want to spend time shopping today, but if I’m dragged to the mall again anytime soon I’ll probably try to reward myself with one of those.

I’m not sure if we’re going to try to do the longer trip tomorrow or not. It looks like the likeliest day to accomplish it, as there aren’t any appointments scheduled at the moment. We have a standing dinner with curiousmay9, though, and I don’t want to interfere with that.

I think I’m going to go back to my lovely jigsaw puzzle. It has kitties on it!

Current Mood: 😴tired
