Arrrgh! Mom just called to let me know that “the family has been called in” around Daddy’s dying brother-in-law. No surprise to me, since the man has lung cancer and his condition has been deteriorating badly for several months.
They haven’t gone because Daddy has been in bed since Wednesday with a “cold.” Anything that causes Daddy to miss work has to be really serious—I’m talking pneumonia. Has he gone to the doctor? Of course not! That would worry and upset me at any time, but coming so soon after the death of curiousmay9’s father (which Mom and Dad know about) because of ignoring “a cold” too long, I’m freaking out.
