I am SO distractible today. I have no idea why I’m just&mdash’hmm, I wonder if there’s any of that fettucine left?
Oh yeah—books. ‘Cause shadesong and kellinator said something about it. I finished Face Down Across the Western Sea by Kathy Lynn Emerson last night. Pretty good, but she seems to be falling into a familiar pattern with the stories. I hate that. I don’t want to guess what happens and who the bad guy is and why before it all comes out in every book. It was still a good story, and like all the others in the series, it was incredibly true to the period.
I got about halfway through Witch Baby by Francesca Lia Block and had a slinkster cool overload. I think she may be one of those authors that I have to take in small bits, like Sheri Tepper. Of course, since they’re so different I guess I could alternate the two, but that might make my brain explode.
Next up are The Free Lunch by Spider Robinson and Harmful to Minors by Judith Levine. I like to read a fiction and a non-fiction book at the same time so I don’t get too bored with either one.
