Have y’all heard about this site?
It’s run by a (now returned) soldier’s family who were shocked to see how thin and dirty their son and his comrades had gotten when he finally sent pictures to them.
There’s a section with requests directly from the soldiers about what their units need, with the shipping info.
They have a companion site where you can just pay for premade care packages.
There’s a good news story about it on CNN.
I’m thinking about picking up a big box of jerky or packages trail mix or something like that each time we go to Sam’s Club or Costco, then shipping that to them.
Some of them say they’d be happy to get letters, so take a look even if you don’t have money to spend.
I don’t care if you support the war or not (I don’t)—supporting the soldiers is another thing altogether. Enlisted men’s pay rates are scandalously low.
