Domestic Violence Awareness Month
This is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and on Thursday, Oct. 14, Liz Claiborne & Marie Claire Magazine present “It’s Time to Talk” Day. Americans nationwide are urged to talk in classrooms, offices, homes, and coffeehouses about the fact that one in three women will be abused in her lifetime. Oct. 17 begins the YWCA Week Without Violence, which encourages domestic violence awareness and violence prevention activities including tree plantings, candlelight vigils, and community forums. Each day addresses a different form of violence: For more information visit http://www.ywca.org/
