Our friends at Fat Wreck Chords and PunkVoter.com have cre­at­ed a CD com­pi­la­tion with the biggest names in punk rock– “Rock Against Bush Vol. 1” — which went on sale this week.

It fea­tures orig­i­nal tracks from top bands like Off­spring, Min­istry, NOFX, and Social Dis­tor­tion, and was an instant big sell­er. How­ev­er, major retail­ers are already strip­ping the CD off their shelves in response to heavy polit­i­cal pres­sure. There are a lot of peo­ple who would rather see this album buried—but we’re not going to let that happen.

If Fat Wreck can sell enough CDs this week to get Rock Against Bush in the top 40, the head­lines and expo­sure will ensure the CD stays on the shelves and on the air. The rank­ings are week­ly, and this week is their best shot. They’re almost there, but to make the cut they will need an infu­sion of sales *this week­end*. That’s where we come in.

The “Rock Against Bush Vol. 1” fea­tures 26 of the most influ­en­tial rock bands in Amer­i­ca right now unit­ing main­stream and under­ground rock to speak out against the Bush Admin­is­tra­tion. It includes bands like Off­spring, Min­istry, NOFX, Social Dis­tor­tion, Pen­ny­wise, Descen­dents, The Ataris, and many more. 

This CD aims to inspire and enrage the young Punkvoter.com audi­ence and comes pack­aged with a bonus DVD that includes tons of fac­tu­al infor­ma­tion and sev­er­al music videos. It also includes short ver­sions of the doc­u­men­taries “Uncov­ered: The Whole Truth about the Iraq War” and “Unprece­dent­ed,” and even the five win­ning com­mer­cials from MoveOn Vot­er Fund’s Bush in 30 Sec­onds campaign.
