Georgia Curriculum Review

A teacher’s review of Georgia’s new high school history curriculum:
Dumbing down our past doesn’t serve our future

The Civil War is just one of the topics that have been removed from the US history course, which focuses on 1876 to the present. While the Underground Railroad isn’t judged important enough to teach, the state is suggesting that teachers show episodes of “Chico and the Man.” Now there’s a lovely priority!

Everything before 1500 has been removed from the world history curriculum. We all know nothing really important happened so long ago, right?
