Viviane is the Celtic Lady of the Lake from medieval Britain. She is a Druid priestess and fought to preserve her tradition from the invading new religion of Christianity. She made an alliance with King Arthur and gave him Excalibur to seal their alliance. She was murdered by a maddened knight when she went to Camelot to demand Arthur’s protection for Avalon.
