The judge referred the case to Juvenile Court. Yes, that’s where such things go in our county/state, instead of a separate Family Court. A guardian ad litem will be appointed and the initial hearing should be held in the next two to three weeks. The guardian ad litem’s job is to speak for the children and represent their best interests. From what we’ve been told, absolutely NOTHING is off-limits to this person—they can get things like psychiatric histories on all the adults involved or order evaluations, etc. That’s a good thing as far as we’re concerned, as we certainly have nothing to hide.
