Thank you so much for all the sup­port this morning!

The judge referred the case to Juve­nile Court. Yes, that’s where such things go in our county/state, instead of a sep­a­rate Fam­i­ly Court. A guardian ad litem will be appoint­ed and the ini­tial hear­ing should be held in the next two to three weeks. The guardian ad litem’s job is to speak for the chil­dren and rep­re­sent their best inter­ests. From what we’ve been told, absolute­ly NOTHING is off-lim­its to this person—they can get things like psy­chi­atric his­to­ries on all the adults involved or order eval­u­a­tions, etc. That’s a good thing as far as we’re con­cerned, as we cer­tain­ly have noth­ing to hide.
