Great Gaming, Disappointing Book

I’m buzzed from gaming with Brenda and sambear, which is always a rush. It just works so well. But I have a PC to rebuild for a friend in the morning and I need to get some sleep so it won’t take a ridiculous amount of time and I’m less likely to do something stupid. So I need to get control of the racing everywhere brain and go get some rest.

Oh—I finished The Free Lunch by Spider Robinson yesterday. It was okay, although I have something against any book with a precocious kid as the main character. This one wasn’t as annoying as some, but—well, sometimes I feel like Spider has fallen into just having one plot that he uses over and over again. People with sucky backgrounds withdraw from society, find other people like themselves, and being to heal their hurts while saving the world. And honestly, it got too self-referential at times.
