Reunion and Pagan Men

We did­n’t go to the Mind­Spring reunion. I had mixed feel­ings, and then real­ized that I was­n’t quite ready to leave dra­cofrost and shad­owkatt in the house unchaperoned.*

I real­ized that while there are peo­ple with whom I’d like to re-estab­lish con­tact who were at the reunion, and while the first part of my time at Mind­Spring was both won­der­ful and a great oppor­tu­ni­ty, the end of that time real­ly soured things for me. It ate bad­ly at my con­fi­dence. After recon­nec­tion with Green, among oth­ers, I learned that what hap­pened to me cer­tain­ly was­n’t unique or unusual—it was part of the move towards cor­po­ra­ti­za­tion and con­for­mi­ty. I had no desire to run into Stromberg or McQuary. It would­n’t have been fun. So I did­n’t go.

*Not a reflec­tion on either kid—I’m still get­ting used to the whole “My BABY has a BOYFRIEND!” thing. I think I’ll like­ly post more about that later.
