Rheumatologist Visit

sambear stayed home today to take me to my rheumatologist, because I’m in extreme pain. He’s so good to me.

She wasn’t particularly, um, intelligible. In one breath she said she was afraid to give me more pain meds because it might just mask symptoms of what’s happening, and then she says, “Oh, you need samples!” and goes and gets us a bag of pain med samples to take home. She told us to go to the ER and hope I’d be admitted, and she also said to go to a neurologist (I don’t have one) right away and to go see my general practitioner. All at once, somehow.

She wrote orders for an astonishing number of lab tests. I almost wonder if she didn’t just go down the order form and check everything.

My GP’s office closed at noon today, so we’re going to go see her tomorrow.
