Autistic Child Banned from Public Playground

I’m real­ly upset. The moth­er and child were told BY THE POLICE that they’d be arrest­ed if they returned to the play­ground!

“They stat­ed that it did­n’t ‘feel right’ hav­ing my son on the play­ground. They felt that the ’emo­tion­al safe­ty’ of oth­ers was at risk.

The sum­ma­ry of my son’s behavior—the cause of his expul­sion from pub­lic includes: not respond­ing to hel­los, not being inter­est­ed in play­ing some games, and report­ing that he was being spied upon (which he was), and once, jump­ing off a bench the wrong way.

The child is home­schooled, but I don’t think this is a home­school­ing issue, pre­cise­ly. It’s pure dis­crim­i­na­tion based on fear of any­one who is different!
