Why I Homeschool

I didn’t have any intention of seeing the movie Mean Girls, but I may change my mind.

The homeschooled character says, “I had never lived in a world where adults didn’t trust me.”
(Quoted in a review by Roger Ebert)

Why should our kids be surrounded by people who don’t trust them, simply because they’re students? That certainly speaks to my own experience of school—an unfortunately adversarial attitude from FAR too many teachers and staffpersons.
