Hey, I just realized WHY we have to buy so many books—it’s job security for the professors!
I mean, who writes most textbooks—professors, right? And I’m taking four courses in technical communications. A lot of books, even when they’re written by someone in a particular field, are co-written by a writer.
I know some of the TCOM professors write on the side.
So if lots of books are sold, more get published. I think. And they have more job security as writers and as teachers of writers.
It makes MUCH more sense now.
