This is my first net fix since Saturday! At least sambear FINALLY found out (supposedly) what the problem was. Supposedly our account was disabled in their system. They don’t know why—it was paid in full.
We strongly suspect that it happened because we canceled the cable TV part of the account on Tuesday. We hadn’t been watching it, so why keep paying for it?
We’d been very, very clear about the fact that we wanted the internet connection to stay connected. Why has it been working intermittently? Nobody knows. Why didn’t any of the other techs, including the one who was here Sunday morning, tell us this? Sheer perversity? I dunno, and if anyone else does, they’re not saying.
Anyway, it’s up again. Many hundreds of email messages are downloading now. Yay!
