–Ernst Bloch
Who is Ernst Bloch? I have no idea. But he was quoted. in this article: The new infidelity: The technologies that make affairs possible also contain the seeds of their exposure.
It also talked about the Buddhist concept of Right Speech, and I found that idea as it relates to e‑mail (and, in fact, to LJ) to be worthy of much more contemplation.
Edit: There are no hidden meanings in this post. I just found the article interesting when it came up on Salon this morning. And I found that Ernst Bloch is apparently a philosopher who wrote the three-volume work The Principle of Hope, but the only stuff I’m finding in English is quotes from that work. The rest is German, and since I’m monolingual I don’t know much more.
