I hit a run of “eh” books. I’m not sure if that was about the books or my mood, honestly. I tried reading Blindfold Game by Dana Stabenow. I love her writing, most of the time. I couldn’t stomach another evil terrorist story, though. So I picked up an anthology that included an Eve Dallas […]
You’d better learn to recognize the warning signs, just to be safe.
I obediently updated to WordPress 2.5.1, and lost my Gravatars. I’ve checked the settings, and they’re still enabled. They’re definitely still in my templates, but nobody gets anything but the default “no gravatar” picture. Buh?
I can’t talk about the presentation. I might have flashbacks. The fact that BOTH my classes that start next week have group projects is NOT giving me a happy. However, I did read Kelly Armstrong’s latest Women of the Otherworld book, Personal Demon, yesterday, and then Dana Stabenow’s Prepared for Rage today. They were good.
One of the neat things about WordPress 2.5 is that when a plugin that’s in the WordPress Plugin Directory is updated, you get a message asking if you want to download the new version or upgrade automatically. If you use the automatic option, WordPress downloads the new version, deletes the old one, unzips the downloaded […]
I love quotations, an outgrowth of my love for words and the written word in particular. I’ve collected an astonishing number of them over the years, but I never got around to doing much with them. The ones that are already on this site are a very tiny sample. I’ve spent a lot of time […]
Since WordPress 2.5 has Gravatar support, I’m attempting to add Gravatars to my blog template. Unfortunately, I just keep getting errors, or the default “no Gravatars” image (even for comment authors who I know have Gravatars, like me). I’m certain that the author of this template isn’t going to update it to include support, because […]
Ack! I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress (2.5) yesterday, and now one of my favorite plug-ins (Now Reading) isn’t working! You can see the books I’m reading at the moment over there in the sidebar, and I can get into the administrative interface, but the library display doesn’t work. Any of the actual […]
Seriously. I didn’t even want to make a post, because it counts as interacting with the world. But hey, that’s the price of Blog365, right? I remembered those “Writer’s Block” prompts on LJ, and decided to try that as a starter. Who comes up with these things? One of them was about what you’d want […]
This week’s question is the first of some recycled questions. It was first asked back in 2005, and I don’t think I even knew about SBQ then, so I doubt that I’ve answered it before. After you stitch a pattern or kit, what do you do with it? I’ve done so few kits that they hardly […]
