Oh, Come On

I don’t buy cross-stitch mag­a­zines any­more. In fact, I rarely buy pat­terns, because I am SO far behind on actu­al­ly stitch­ing the ones I have!

I hap­pened to see the cov­er of Cross Stitch Gold recent­ly, though, and was all excit­ed by what I thought was a design by Lau­rel Burch on the cover. 

Nope — it’s by one of their staff design­ers, Vivi­enne Powers.

Tell me — is this not VERY deriv­a­tive of Burch’s work? And there’s no men­tion of her at all!

I wish I could find one of Burch’s works that I remem­ber because it is a cat in the same col­ors in the exact same pose as the fake Burch pic­ture above.
