Sounds

sambear brought home this cool switch thing. It can take four audio video/inputs to two outputs. I grabbed the first thing that came to hand to test the phono input—Daddy’s Sounds of Marine Corps Boot Camp. Now there’s a new listening experience…

Oh—I have a stack of albums here that my parents want to be transferred to CDs now that we have a turntable. Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass’ South of the Border, Duane Eddy, 24 Of Hank Williams’ Greatest Hits (that’s the original), Floyd Cramer, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Statler Brothers’ Bed of Roses, and more. I think I regrettably (snerk) left without Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette.

The boy dug sambear’s box of albums out of the storage area—he just put on a recording of Harlan Ellison reading something. Katie is absolutely fascinated.

But there’s some sort of rhythmic noise that’s there no matter which album is on. Gotta figure out what’s making that. Does it need a new needle? I don’t remember much about record players.
