This Is So Cool!

In case you missed it—

PBS is recruiting now to live at the dawn of modern America. Have you got what it takes to live in the early 17th century for five whole months? COLONIAL HOUSE is looking not just for families, but for individuals too. We want a diverse group of people, but participants will have to be mentally and physically able to cope with the day-to-day rigors of this extraordinary challenge. Right now, preparations are being made for filming in a beautiful but remote corner on the Eastern Seaboard. There, our volunteers will be fully immersed in early colonial life. Starting in late spring, through summer and early fall of 2003, we’ll see how they fare with planting and harvesting corn, catching fish, and living as a young community. No one will pretend it’s going to be easy. Life in the Colonies could certainly be harsh. But the triumphs and frustrations of our volunteers will provide a unique account of an iconic moment in American history.
