A Very Meowy Christmas by Zoe Chant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A Very Meowy Christmas is book six according to GoodReads, or eight by the author’s reckoning.
Mason is a single father and a bobcat shifter. He’s new to Virtue, having recently moved there to raise his daughter Sandy in a shifter community for safety’s sake. While he’s out taking care of some details in order to settle into their new home, though, Sandy manages to find a way out of the house while her babysitter is in the bathroom. She runs happily off to the woods to play, leaving her sitter frantic to find her and her father even more upset when he gets back home.
Veterinary student Chrissy, born and bred in Virtue, has grown up knowing about shifters due to working in her father’s vet practice. She knows about fated mates, too, but never expected to be one. She also doesn’t expect to find a bobcat kitten out in the woods alone. Seeing the kitten turn into a sweet toddler is quite a surprise. She takes the little one back to the veterinary office and contacts her father to put out the word that a shifter child has been found. As soon as word reaches Mason, he’s in the office to retrieve Sandy – and to meet the second fated mate of his life.
Recently widowed, Mason needs time to recover before he and Chrissy can truly be mates. Chrissy needs time to finish school and build a life on her own, separate from her family. Can they take that time?
