Got an Extra Room?

GLBT Host Home Program

The GLBT Host Home Program offers adults in the community the opportunity to open their homes to homeless queer youth. Young people needing homes are connected to adults with extra bedrooms. It’s really that easy!

Hosts are trained and provided ongoing support while youth live with them for 6–12 months. Hosts are invited to monthly support and training meetings and have regular contact with the Host Home Program Manager. Hosts receive no financial compensation.

While living in host homes, youth have the chance to work toward self-sufficiency, go to school, and work without having to worry about food and shelter. Youth move from host homes into their own apartments, dorm rooms, or other permanent housing.

Call Anne Supplee, Host Home Program Manager, for more details, supplee@youthlinkmn.org or 612-252-1206.
