Long Monday

long-monday

I was so busy Monday, and so wiped out, that I actually scribbled this out on paper and just now (Thursday) got a chance to type it in.

We had Hope until this morning, which was nice. But then she left, which I knew would happen, but it still wasn’t as nice. I miss her! Kioshi did finally decide that she might not be so fearsome, and permitted her to offer scritches while he stropped her ankles to mark her. I figure that made Diana (Hope’s dog) very curious when Hope got home!

The only good that about her departure is that she had to leave to come back, right?

Katie had an appointment, then we ran some errands, then we came home and collapsed. Pretty boring, all in all.

Still Thinging; Date Night

I am, in fact, still keeping up with Thing-a-Day! I need to go post over there, though. I do wish I could automatically cross-post, but if wishes were fishes and all that.

I stitched tonight while Sam and I gamed. I also wrote for a while, earlier. Sam and I have recently begun participating in a forum that does a great job of encouraging introspection, and being a safe place in which to express oneself. It’s a powerful thing, and I’m in awe of the people who created and run it.

A Cappella Music, Babylon5, and Firefly, Oh My!

This afternoon, I opened the blinds on the windows behind my chair, thinking it would draw Kioshi off the monitor (his tail kept obscuring the screen) to look out the windows. Nope. He turned around, so at least his tail wasn’t in the way, but he was inordinately pleased with himself because he could then survey his world from his nice, warm perch.

I download a ridiculous number of podcasts, then forget to listen to them. I can’t find my MP3 player, and it’s tiny anyway (512k), so it doesn’t hold much. Sam has the same kind, and he gets by, but he’s more motivated: it keeps him sane while he’s “out there” every day. I normally take the lazy way out and listen to Pandora or Last.FM.

Wake Up Cat

Dedicated to The Girl

Kioshi is not allowed in the room when I’m trying to sleep, because he either keeps me awake, or lets me get just into sleep, then goes on a tear knocking things off every surface in the room.

But the girl—let’s just say he might really want that baseball bat!

My heart has been stolen!

By a dark, blue-eyed stranger who walked up to me last night. He looked into my eyes and I was gone!

Ninja Kitty

We think he’s about 8 weeks old. He’s very skittish right now, preferring to stay out of sight and away from Shelley unless there’s crack wet food in question.

Shelley is NOT amused.
