WTF? Georgia Senate Threatens to Secede!

Georgia Senate threatens dismantling of USA
They really did, by a vote of 43-1. On April 1, but it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.

The resolution goes on to endorse the theory that states have the right to abridge constitutional freedoms of religion, press and speech. According to the resolution, it is up to the states to decide “how far the licentiousness of speech and of the press may be abridged.”
(snip)
Finally, the resolution states that if Congress, the president or federal courts take any action that exceeds their constitutional powers, the Constitution is rendered null and void and the United States of America is officially disbanded. As an example, the resolution specifically states that if the federal government enacts “prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition,” the country is disbanded.

You better believe that I’m writing to our state senator right away. Yes, this nonsense was slipped in on day 39 of the 40-day legislative session, but that is absolutely no excuse. Our representatives have no business voting for anything they haven’t thoroughly read, understood, and debated. That’s their job!

Yet another reason I don’t want to live in Georgia anymore. I seriously think this is a backlash against our election of a black Democrat to the presidency. I’m looking at blue states now.

  1. Sorry, Cyn, but as you know, I'm the polar opposite of you on most issues. Its unlikely I'll ever bet back to this blog again. I just don't follow up on these things and forget about 'em. But there IS a 10th amendment, #1 and secondly, its absolute foolishness to blame all the anger on the fact that we elected a black President. A really cheap shot to put it bluntly. You support a woman's right to choose to kill her own baby as if it was any less of an abuse because we never look into the eyes of the victim to kill a child before or after birth and in supporting this choice, you support a President and a Congress who attack many other choices through various back door means of their own. The Stimulus package which was forced through as an emergency was done so with the understanding that our Congress not actually read the bill and it included a healthcare system that takes away doctors choices on treatment options and decides by cost just as a terrible HMO like Kaiser does, what kind of help a person can get. And if we are to accept Biden's claims about that part of the bill, he says that Americans will just have to realize that their 80 year old Grandmother is near the end of her life anyway and she should not get the same kind of treatments her grandkids get and the government decides who lives and dies and the choice is taken away from the patients and families. And now with the Health and Human services people, they are trying to take away a doctor's right to make a conscientious choice if he is a Christian who does not want to kill babies. Another choice denied by the new Reich is that a Catholic or Christian child growing up in today's regime, if these things go forward, will be denied the rights to enter into certain job fields like medicine by the restrictions to their religious rights. This is much like what happened in England for quite some time where Catholics could not enter into certain fields of study or work. Obama paying off the Union bosses (most of them thugs and criminals like the Teamsters) by taking away the right of a secret ballot as he is trying to do is another example of him trying to take total control and eliminate choice. So, you want your freedom to kill babies at the expense of losing all other liberties? I don't and I wholeheartedly support leaving the Union if this is what it comes to.
Incidentally, a few years back I supported Alan Keyes for President over Bush and he's a WHOLE LOT BLACKER than that weasel Obama who is nothing more than a paid stooge to George Soros and this whole World banking system. Truthfully, I find it rather condescending to have all my passion and conviction dismissed by inferring that I and most of the others who believe along with me are “racists”. I'm sorry to be so blunt when you are typically a whole lot more diplomatic than in this article, but it was that statement alone that ruined your argument for me above all others and is way beneath you.

  2. Bryan, I have been more than patient and considerate of your beliefs over the years that we've known each other. It's been so long since you actually listened to anything I've said that you have no actual idea what I believe, specifically, on ANY topic. You've gotten so deeply immersed in a cultish adherence to what some religious leader tells you to believe that you are unwilling or unable to have a rational conversation. I've been considerate and tolerant far past any reasonable expectation.

The problem goes beyond that, though. Even in our email exchanges, no matter what I say, all you can talk about is the same complaints about the same problems you've had for 20 years or more–unemployment or under-employment, untenable living situations, no companionship or “relationships” that consist solely of yet another pretty girl taking advantage of you. You haven't even pretended to read or respond to anything I've said about my life in that time, because everything has to be about you.

Taking this particular post personally, as indicated by comments like “I find it rather condescending to have all my passion and conviction dismissed…” and bringing up abortion, which isn't even MENTIONED in my post or the article to which it refers, is typical of your irrational behvior and communication. You get your news from places like WorldNet Daily, which is notoriously biased and full of utter nonsense. You don't even have the brains or memory to recall that the stimulus package of which you speak (and its inexcusable lack of oversight) is a legacy of the Bush administration.

Bryan, you're a religiofascist. You don't have the intelligence or the critical thinking skills to get into this debate you're trying to start, so I refuse to play. I don't have the energy to engage in even a ghost of a relationship with you, because you are a vast, sucking drain of neediness. These are things I would have said privately, but you chose the forum. Goodbye.
